RuneScape Chronicle - Underwater Agility/Thieving Training

  • The new underwater Agility and Thieving method can provide some of the best XP hanging around for Thieving and Agility in total, and there's been general praise for how engaging it is, yet very few people are using it. Good one of the drawbacks is that there are already lots of fast ways to teach Thieving, so there is not so much interest in an approach to training it together with Agility. This activity might be fine for players who want Thieving and Agility XP together, but that seems to be a relatively few players.

To improve this particular, we'd like to offer a big change to how you gain the XP within the activity. Rather than getting training XP within the two skills because as you steal the mermaid tears, we'd like to give you a new Sparkling Mermaid's Tear product as an extra loot (along with a nominial amount of XP for having used your skills). The glistening tears can then become traded to Mairin for XP in one of three ways:

You can choose to discuss the XP among both Agility and Thieving.

This will give the same XP reward that you're currently getting when you loot the clams and chests, i. e. 196 Agility XP and 718. 5 Thieving if you're at level 99 in all those skills.

You can choose to allocate the XP only to Agility.

When the existing Agility reward at level 99 is 196 XP, the game will double that and apply a 15% charges, giving 333. 2 Agility XP.

That could give an estimated per hour rate of 76k at level 99.

You can choose to spend the XP only to OSRS Gold for Sale Thieving.

If the current Thieving reward in level 99 is actually 718. 5 XP, the game will double that and apply a 15% charges, giving 1221. 4 Thieving XP.

That could give an estimated per hour rate of 297k at level 99.

At levels beneath 99, the rates would scale down because they do in the game now.

The new tears will be stackable, but right after about 6 hrs of tear-gathering Mairin will expect you to hand in your glistening tears before collecting any more of them, so they could not be used to store unlimited quantities of XP indefinitely.
