The fifth season of the ESL CS: GO Pro League concluded in Dallas on Sunday June 4th.
The great finals of $750, 000 competition involved twelve groups, six who’d qualified via the European online group and six from The united states.
Taking place at the Verizon Theatre in downtown Dallas, a big crowd watched as France team G2 esports took the title 3-1 over the Danish side of North.
It’s the first major competition win for G2 because forming after the French roster shuffle back in February 2017.
In a twist to the normal format, the grand last of ESL Pro League used a best of 5 format, with Rich ‘shox’ Papillon’s team winning 3-1 to secure the actual $225, 000 first place reward.
In an interesting twist, all of us saw G2 player Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub fall to the ground with the trophy, slipping on the confetti released through the roof.
Further down the actual pack, we saw SK Gaming and Team Liquid place joint 3rd/4th, with mousesports and Team EnVyUs coming up in 5th/6th.
