ESL EU CSGO Professional League Week 5 Preview: Matches, Up-dat

  • Week 5 of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ESL Professional League will get underway at 1pm EST/7pm CET today and will see some matchups later this week that are sure to keep fans engaged.
However , arriving off of the hype of IEM Katowice, there could be some let down within the play of some of the better teams as they recover from their journey schedule. Will upsets abound or will certainly the Katowice groups recover in time?
    ESL Pro League
Teams play in 2, best of ones against a single opposition and can play as much as two opponents each day.
No best of three’s or best of five’s within the regular season.
Best six teams in each division will certainly qualify for the ESL Pro League Finals being held in Dallas, Texas through June 3-4.
2017 Prize pool has been expanded to $2 million, a 25% increase from 2016.
    · European Division
    · Tuesday March 7:
    · Brave vs . G2 -- 1pm EST
    · Heroic had a fantastic finish at the Intel Extreme Masters Season XI World Championships, taking a 3rd/4th, shedding their semifinal match against eventual champ Astralis. Newly fixed Jakob ‘JUGi’ Hansen has already paid dividends for this team along with in-game leader Valdemar ‘valde’ Bjorn Vangsa singing his praises. G2 is still looking to showcase their new lineup with the additions of Richard ‘shox’ Papillon and Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub.
    · Fnatic vs . LDLC - 3: 2opm EST
    · This is a very interesting matchup between a team that is still greatly in flux, actively playing an organization that is trying to recapture former glory. LDLC took down Space Soldiers within the StarLadder i-League Season 3 European Qualifier and is looking to carry on their winning methods.
    · Wednesday, March 8:
    · G2 vs . North -- 1pm - EST
    · North was looking for the prize at IEM Katowice when they finished second in Group B, beating Virtus. pro, Natus Vincere, and Cloud9. And when they drew Immortals in the quarterfinals, they thought their own chances were great that they would make it to the semifinals. Oops. G2 will continue to work on the form and strategy as they play in these online matches.
    · Astralis vs . Virtus. pro 3: 30pm EST - (EU MATCH OF THE WEEK)
    · The No . 1 team in the world taking on the team that didn’t make it out of group play in their home nation. Although people say that on the internet matches do not mean as much, this will be the match that VP cares about. Look for VP to play aggressively in what will be the the majority of exciting matchup from the week.
    · Thurs, March 9:
    · Natus Vincere or EnVyUs - 1pm EST
    · Natus Vincere is still the top-tier team and should roll right more than EnVyUs. EnVyUs is really a team still looking to find itself following the great French roster shuffle. It’s fits like this that will allow EnVyUs to work out some of the kinks in their video game and allow for team synergy to develop.
    · Kinguin vs . HellRaisers - 1pm EST
    · A great match between two groups that are really looking to elevate themselves in to another tier. In case you recall, HellRaisers qualified for the ELEAGUE Major and was searching great for a while, however couldn’t keep it heading. Kinguin is probably the second best team in Poland and it is looking to continue their own winning ways following a second place complete at the WESG 2016 tournament.
    · FaZe Clan and Ninjas in Pyjamas -- 3: 30pm EST
    · FaZe Clan is playing perfectly, having reached the finals at the IEM Season XI World Champions where these people lost to Astralis 1-3 in that best of five. NiP, on the other hand, is really a team in dire straits, searching for any reason to keep the team together. If NiP can’t get is victorious in ESL Professional League, it may be the end of this iconic team in its current time.
    · North or mousesports - 4: 30pm EST
    · The last match from the week will be extremely important as these two groups try to climb the standings. G2 offers yet to win a map at 0-3, while To the north is sitting in 9th place, albeit they haven’t played as CSGO AWP Skins many games since the rest of the field. Remember, only the top 6 teams get into the ESL Pro Group Season 5 Playoffs.http://www.csgo4skin.com
