"Bloat" has become the term I was looking for when comparing modern, bloated games to RuneScape gold the exceptional matches of the past. Thank you. OSRS is the ideal example of cutting bloat and getting back to solid basics, with the addition of modern conveniences as you mentioned. Delete OSRS and bring back classic. PVP is simple, you struggle, three hits no running, no eating, no teleporting. No more complaints about running or safing. Duel anywhere! Everywhere is now the duel arena, for going to some dumb shack in the desert no demand. Everybody's an Ironman! Not because you can't trade, it requires sooooo fucking long that you are better off doing it yourself. After the tenth time of attempting to stop the golden multipler you'll understand.
No more OP gear! D med, Dragon battle axe, and D Square are currently BiS. Chainmail is currently important because plate bodies eliminate gloves. We would like options, not that many. Last but not least, sleeping bags! Everyone knows robots can not browse captchas, botting has become obsolete!Jagex, I am available whenever you are ready. Nothing will ever compare to playing pre eoc for me. RSHD, Nex, Summoning, Dungeoneering, WGS, RotM, many different questlines and minigames, also likely most significantly the very different game community back then were all the peak of rs for me personally. As imbalanced as they were, that they brought sheer pleasure to me, and I'm glad I managed to experience all of them in glory before things died out.
Ideals and attitudes toward RuneScape shifted since then though, game balance and endurance is given more focus today, so I am pleased with all that remaining just a memory now. Game-wise? OSRS is in a sense better condition than pre-eoc and it is not even near. There is so much more good content and the content is balanced for the most part. Things are actually implemented by the JMods the players need and listen to opinions. Is that the quantity of quests that came out afterward. Community-wise? Pre-eoc was better. People always speak about stealing all kinds of things they remember having fun, soul wars and creation with. Unless they place some wages that are overpowered in Should they put those items into OSRS, then they would be ghost towns.
Watching players that have not touched RS3 in 8years undergo the beginnings of RuneScape is a great way to determine what works in the"new participant experience" and what does not. Great example. The guy is brand new having only played oldschool, or RuneScape. There's been a few things he's run to him flat out confuses since he misses the excuse, or doesn't get one. The notion of the toolbelt isn't explained. The stamina bar in mining is disabled by default, and so, the concept of refreshing your endurance isn't educated. Hell, he even points out odd things that used to bug most people, but we have chosen to ignore because it has gone unchanged by Jagex for so damn long, such as why full helms and med helms have the very same stats.
Though I have never created any videos I am one of those men. Let me inform you, the whole encounter is OVERWHELMING! With all the in game guidance it feels almost impossible to find any footing. Granted as an OSRS player I eager to do things marginally so that might hamper my beginnings in this fast-paced sport. Frankly speaking though, that overwhelming feeling existed 16 years. Even when RuneScape was so modest, RuneScape didn't tutor enough on just what the hell I was supposed to buy old school rs gold. Though equally so figuring out it felt gratifying.
